Milling is to fix the blank and use a high-speed rotating cutter to cut the blank and cut out the desired shape and features. Conventional milling is used more for simple contouring such as milling contours and grooves, and CNC milling machines can perform complex shapes and features.

 

A milling cutter is a rotary tool with one or more teeth for milling. During the work, each tooth cuts the remaining amount of the workpiece intermittently. Milling cutters are mainly used to machine planes, steps, grooves, forming surfaces and cutting workpieces on milling machines.

 

Milling is a common method of metal cold working. The difference between turning and turning is that the tool rotates at high speed under the spindle drive during milling, and the workpiece is relatively stationary.
