The processing flow of the parts is specified by the process flow, while the process specifications guide and control the specific processing content.

The process specification is based on the requirements of the product drawings, the characteristics of the workpiece, the production batch and the existing equipment and production capacity of the enterprise. After careful analysis and comparison in several possible process plans, the optimization is preferred. A technically feasible and economically sound optimal process plan is a technical document that guides the production process of parts.

In the technical documents, the blank used for the part, its processing method, the specific processing size, the nature, quantity, order and quality requirements of each process; the type and specification of the equipment used in each process; and the processing used in each process are clarified. Forms of tools (such as auxiliary tools, tools, molds, etc.); quality requirements and inspection methods and requirements for each process.

Process specifications have different displays for specific applications. Generally speaking, for a large-scale complex sheet metal structural part, the sheet metal work often needs to be completed under the cooperation of electric welders, hoists and other professional types of work, and the sheet metal parts are often called the stamping process for the processing technology directly processed by pressure processing.

For the processing technology of component assembly by welding, it is often called the welding process, and when it is composed of mechanical processing and welding, riveting and other processing processes in assembly processing, it is directly called assembly process. The more common form is the process card. Companies with different formats are different, but the content is roughly the same. It mainly includes the name and model of the product, the name of the part, the grade of the material, the specification, the number of pieces, the sequence number, name and content of the process, and the process equipment used to complete each process.
